Soooooooooo Cold
Well, I went to my first Crittenden County Fall Festival Saturday. I didn't plan on staying long, but Emma had other plans...in fact, we ended up staying the ENTIRE time (three hours), and it was soooooooooooo cold. When we left our house it was really warm and sunny, so I didn't think we would need our coats, but I was mistaken! Actually Emma stayed pretty warm because she was playing on the inflatables the whole night, but I couldn't feel my toes or nose; however it was all a little more bearable because Micaela Tabor kept me company and Savannah Berry kept Emma occupied (hilarious video of her being ripped backward by a bungee cord)! All in all, it was a good time.

Crazy Kids
Can someone please tell me why I have the most ridiculous students in the world?????????
BTW, these are barfbags on their heads!

Student Complaints
It seems that no matter what we do as teachers, our students always find something to complain about when it comes to work, class, and school in general! Just the other day, we began setting up our blogs for Digital Journalism. I thought the students would enjoy blogging and interacting with one another, but no, that would just be way too easy! Instead half of them made their first post about the fact that they had to blog once a week. After I had read these posts, I very politely told them that I would be more than happy to assign book work in place of the blog. I didn't get any comments back from that, so maybe that's what I should do next week - I bet they wouldn't complain anymore.

I guess I should participate since I asked them to...
While I am not a "new" teacher, I am new to teaching digital journalism, so this has been a learning experience for both me and my students. In all actuality, a couple of the kiddos just had to show me how to follow their blogs! Isn't that what it is all about though? Learning from each other? I don't pretend to know everything, and I am sure I will be seeking their help more as the year progresses. The bell just rang, so I gotta go!
